Hey All,

I have a Nikon Coolscan V, and am about to start scanning all of my best 35mm slides.  I have looked into camera scans, and I think I'm going to go straight to the film scanner.

My question is:  Should I spend a bunch of time messing around with the (clumsy) settings of my scanner software, or should I do a basic scan (with Digital ICE dust removal) and do all of the colour/exposure/sharpen adjustments in PS?

Cheers, Josh

I have heard good remarks about this program VueScan @ http://www.hamrick.com/

The program supports heaps of scanners and different types of negs, slides and so on. Check it out I think you should get better than clumsy settings.

All the best Muzza!!!

I guess I meant to say, "I hope the following will be of help, considering the fact that your post is about 9 -months old."  My fault, sorry.
