There's now a Wndows Beta of IIP 2.3.01 for you to download that's equivalent to the first Mac Beta. The Mac Beta has also been updated to fix some bugs. The version number for both platforms is 2.3.01B2.

The link is ImageIngester.com.

Marc,

I hope I'm mistaken, but it appears that the {@numberrange} macro is not behaving correctly in this latest Mac beta (2.3.01B2).

I use the following macros for 'Image FIle Name' ...  (n.b. the typo is yours, not mine ;-)

{@prefix,1,-1,_}{@datetime,1,8}_{@filename,-4}

and for 'Folder Arrangement and  Names' I use ...

{@datetime,1,4}{@datetime,5,2}{@datetime,7,2}/{@numberrange}

'Number-Range Folders' is set to 'Filename Numbers'

My source folder for IIP beta testing contains two files, _S3V4058.CR2 and _S3V4059.CR2, both created on 24 April 2007.

Ingesting these files with IIP 2.2.03, 2.2.04 and 2.3.01B1 creates the following folders and files ...

20070424
    4058-4059
        RQ_20070424_4059.xmp
        RQ_20070424_4058.xmp
        RQ_20070424_4059.CR2
        RQ_20070424_4058.CR2

This is correct. :-)

Using the same Preference Set, the latest beta release IIP 2.3.01B2 creates the following folders and files hierarchy ...

20070424
    0000-0001
        RQ_20070424_4059.xmp
        RQ_20070424_4059.CR2
    0000-0000
        RQ_20070424_4058.xmp
        RQ_20070424_4058.CR2

This is obviously incorrect. :-(

The log file (ii_log.txt) suggests the {@numberrange} macro is being expanded correctly ...

2007-May-02 12:15:30 [1238]:     Number range: 4058 through 4059

however the folder 4058-4059 is not being created.

I'll continue testing with other source files and folders in case I've missed something; otherwise I hope we'll see 2.3.01B3 real soon. ;-)

Robert--

I've reproduced this problem, and hope to have it fixed quickly.

Robert (and everyone else)--

I've just uploaded 2.3.01B3 (both platforms) to fix this bug. Number range folders should now be OK.

The bug has been squashed. :-)

Thanks, Marc.

Marc,

Just wanted to let you know that I was unable to find a download link for the Beta 3 version for Windows on your site so I created the link and was able to download it.

Sorry, Dan, the page fell behind. If you want to create a link to B4, you can be one step ahead of what I'm going to do tomorrow.

(B4 has a solution to the International character and special character problem, without requiring escape characters.)
