Plug-ins in CS2 and CS3

I have some plug-ins that are no longer being worked on so may not work in CS3. PTLens (the free version) for example.
Any ACR4 work done on a file will be read in CS2? and the plug-ins should work? It's just no further RAW work can be done, is that right? Or do we use .tiff files and derivatives? I would have liked to use PTLens quite early on in the work flow?

Chris,
I don't knwo anything about PT. You'll have to find their tech support.
All our DAMuseful products will work on CS3. We're very close to release.
