I'm running files through the routine using CS3 Bridge for the first time. R&F Lite was sporadic about adding color labels to 1 Star images and didn't add any at all to 2 Star images. I got the dialog that told me how many had been converted and it was the right number.

Peter,
Do you have the Urgency field showing in the Bridge Metadata Panel (part of IPTC IIM Legacy)?
Can you confirm that there is no corresponding value in the field?  A one star image should be labeled High, 2 is 2, 3 is 3, 4 is 4, 5 is Normal.

If the data is there - Urgency corresponds to Star Rating after R&F Lite - then the problem is somewhere in the handoff to iView.

If the data is not there, then Bridge is fumbling the data translation that the script is asking for.  If this is the case:
1. Try resetting Bridge preferences
2. Clear Bridge and Camera Raw Cache
3. Are you using Sidecar files?
4. Do the Sidecar Files contain the rating information?
5. Are any files locked?

Hi, Peter

When I saw the missing color labels in iView in the current batch, I added them there and pushed the metadata back in, so I don't know if i could give you dependable answers to these questions now.
I'll look for these things in the next group of files I run and I'll post to this thread.

Peter

I just ran a folder of 86 images. The problem I reported with R&F Lite still exists. Here is what I see.

Label & Rating info is in the Sidecar files. I ran R&F Lite and converted to DNG. Looking at the DNGs in Bridge CS3, the Rating only made it to the Urgency field in 2 files out of the 61 that have ratings (the first 2).
Clearing the cache made no difference.

FWIW, since I started using CS3 the other day, I notice that the "Converted xxx files" dlog window comes up immediately, but it doesn't really run until I click OK. In CS2, that dlog didn't show up until the process was completed. Maybe that means something to you.

Peter
It looks  like you're logged on right now. Would you have a look at my post of April 25th in this thread? I'm trying to solve this and possibly feed you some useful information in the process.

Thanks,
Peter

Peter,
The old method for CS2 is being replaced by a much faster method for the CS3 versions.  We'll have that shortly.
It was delayed due to some inconsistencies in javascript implementation in CS3.
If you can hang on till then, hopefully that will clear everything up.

Peter

Thanks for the reply. I'll hang on and, in the meanwhile, just remember to add labels in iView.

Hi Peter K.!

Will you send out an email to R&F owners when the new version for CS3 is ready?  Do you have an estimate on when it might be done.  I too am running into inconsistencies with embedding the filename into the TITLE field.  It does some and not others.  We have a huge 2 wk. long commercial shoot coming up at the end of the month where tens of thousands of images will be shot and, of course, it sure would be great to have the new speedier version.  No pressure... :)

Thanks.

Daniel,
Alyson will send out notic when the new scripts are ready.
I think we'll probably just send the script itself out to everyone, unless that presents problems for our ISP.
I'll ping Tom and see when he thinks it might be done.
