Hi

I would be interested in your opinion about Photo Mechanic vs. Image Ingester, Breeze, digital pro 4 and all other offers out there, who are doing the same either as there only ability or as one of many things they are capable of. So the purpose this time is download from card, write metadata, IPTC, keywords, renaming RAW files etc. to all files as fast as possible, backup on 2 different drives at the same time while downloading ( i.e. Laptop and external portable HD).

I am looking especially for speed, reliability, easy of use and the ability to work on the road (metatdata & keywords) and then later on easily transfer/update the work over to other computers which shall have the final catalogue system (i.e. iviewpro, Lightrooom etc.)

Currently I am not planning to convert my raw (NEF) files into DNG format, if that is one criteria for you.

Screening images and rating them would be great if built in, but this seems not avaibale with most of the stuff out there and I do really want to have first the best product for the downloading/naming stuff.

Thanks in advance

Snoopy (Name?)
Photomechanic offers advantages if you want to use it to do a preliminary sort before Bridge work.  ImageIngester Pro is what I would use if you just want to automate the download procedure.
