Hi,

I've never used Bridge and Camera Raw before, I was using RSP but after reading Peter's book I've decided to give it go with Bridge etc and the DAM Workflow.
I've been following through the book setting up my Preferences and so on.
However, when I come to renaming files on Import I can set up the renaming variations fine but my extension goes from CR2.rws to .rws only on the rename side.  I know it is something to do with RSP and how it keeps the adjustment data in a separate file to the RAW files but shouldn't my final extension be CR2?  Or not?
Some help would be most appreciated.

A bit more than slightly frustrated Sue.
And this is my only day off this week!!

Regards,
Sue

Sue,
I would expect the file extension to be .cr2, not .rws.
How did it get that extension in the first place.

I believe that the .rws is the RawShooter sidecar file.

Makes sense.

I would suggest not doing much of anything with those files until Lightroom comes out.  As I understand it, there will be a migration tool for RSP owners to Lightroom.  At that point, you can do the migration, convert to DNG, and start working with iView, idImager, iMatch, or other DAM software.

Thanks very much Peter and Doug.
Yes the rws is definitely from RSP.   I just couldn't work out why it was coming up with that extension rather than the cr2.

So for now I"ll wait.

Thanks,
Sue
