In Mac Beta 14, the macro-editing fields on the Preferences-Naming tab now wrap. In previous releases, lines that were too long were impossible to edit.

Windows Beta 5 has that fix, and also these new features:

1. The Preferences-Ingestion tab is now fully implemented, including auto ingest/eject and including/excluding file types.

2. In previous releases, any non-ASCII characters, whose codes were above 127, could cause Adobe software (e.g., Bridge, Photoshop, and DNG Converter) to ignore the ImageIngesterPro-generated sidecar. This included the copyright symbol. Now when this occurs without a proper UTF-8 escape character an error is generated in ImageIngesterPro. This will require the metadata template or the data (depending on where the offending character is) to be fixed.

The proper UTF-8 escape character that must precede non-ASCII characters is hex C2 (decimal 194). For example, to enter a copyright symbol in the IPTCstatus.copyright field, enter two characters:

Alt+0194
Alt+0169

The numbers must be entered with the numeric keypad. That is, to enter Alt+0194 you hold down the Alt key and type the 4 digits 0194 on the numeric keypad, and then you release the Alt key.

Do not enter a copyright symbol this way on a Mac under OS X. Just enter the copyright symbol normally, as Option-G.

I would further note, Windows users, that the UTF-8 escape code is required directly prior to ANY upper-ascii character. Therefore:

Alt+0194 + Alt+0174 for the registered trademark symbol ®
Alt+0194 + Alt+0153 for the trademark symbol ™

~ being the main other two.

Also, my metadata templates created in Bridge or PhotoShop are correctly escaped. You won't need to go back and edit templates made in those programs!

Thank you, Marc, for this latest release! I'm doing some more ingestions today, so I'll give it the once-or-twice-or-thrice-over, lol....

Confirmed: Deletion of Catalog Sets now works as expected. ~ you never did tell me what i'd done weird with the one that wouldn't delete, but i have now successfully deleted it!
Confirmed: Tools/Preferences/Ingestion tab functional
Confirmed: Tools/Preferences/Naming macro-editing fields wrap
Confirmed: Successful installation via running the new .msi file twice as opposed to uninstall/install
Confirmed: [Eject] button on main interface correctly denotes difference between temporary drive (such as Epson P-5000) and a card reader, and does not enable Ejection for the former.

Dawnne--

FYI: Not being able to delete your Catalog Set was bug in the program that was fixed in Beta 5.
