I am having trouble with the date when renaming on import. If I use the creation date, I get the current date. If I use the modify date, I get the date the card was downloaded. The date I would like to use is the date the image was taken, from the camera metadata. It there any way to accomplish this? Thanks.

Hi Terry,

It would help to know what import method you are using?

Hi David,
I'm using the Import From Camera script from within Bridge. So it's IFC/Rename on Import/Rename Options. Then the string is: TF_Allen_<var mdate[YYMMDD]>_<var filename[4,8]><var extension. Does that help any?

Terry,

It's not a script that I use. I've been using BreezeSys Downloader Pro.  The Import from Camera script lists three date variables for import, date, mdate and cdate. These are today, modification date and creation date respectively. It may not be looking at the EXIF data at all, but simply at the file's operating system dates.

Not much help but may you hadn't picked that up.

Cheers,

David

Terry, The best answer os to simply switch to ImageIngester, preferably the pro version.
