I just tried the windows version, and it does not update the Bridge Label to the Keywords of the image.

Baard,
Hmm, works for me. Lets isolate:
Select a single image without annotations
Add a Label
Add a Star
Run Rank and File Lite
Does it give a "1 Image Converted" message?
Check the Keywords, any there?
Check the IPTC Title, anything there?
Check the IPTC Urgency (in the File Info>Origin). Is it set to High?

No it does NOT give a "1 image converted message"
There are still NO keywords.
But the filename is in the IPTC Title field.
And the IPTC Urgency field is correctly changed?

Baard,
Okay, that's helpful. Let me see if we can figure out why it chokes.
BTW, what words do you have your label values set to? (there's no punctuation or non-standard characters in the Label name, right?)
Have you tried it with other labels?

My labels are set to fremkalling, papirkopi, favorittbilde, blue, purple.
I tried it with all my labels, I have even tried it on my laptop.
I have used pictures downloaded off my memory card with downloader pro, and with pictures downloaded from the net.
And still no luck

Baard,
Is a metadata template created called __RFL__Temp? (this is how Rank and File Lite assigns the label)
You would see this in the flyout in the File Info panel, or in the menu item Tools>Append Metadata
I think this step is probably where it is choking. It's probably choking as it tries to make the template.
If the template is there, open with a text editor and see what it says.

So that's where that RFL template is coming from. I was wondering how that was getting created.
Anyway, I'm on WindowsXP as well and everything appears to be working fine for me.

Baard,
You are running a current version of Bridge, right? (1.0.4)
Can you create a metadata template?
Can you apply a metadata template?
Have you tried to trash preferences?

Baard,
Well, that's where the problem is. Now the question is why.
You could try to trash the Bridge Preferences.
Pardon the ignorance, but is there an equivalent to Permissions Repair on Windows?

Baard,
I'm afraid I'm not much help on Windows, but a Google search produces a number of results for premissions repair on Windows.
A permissions problem will cause issues like this, where an application does not have the "permission" to create the __RFL__TMP file in the folder. Do you have any general operating system utilities? I think this is a problem with your system, rather than with the script.
Any other issues with Bridge or any other programs?
Any Windows users out there with suggestions?

I've not much time to follow the forums at present and maybe I've not read exactly what the problem is, but on a Windows XPPro machine I changed an image's label to yellow and gave it a rating in Bridge CS2, then ran the embed ratings menu option. It added Yellow to the image's keywords, and iView was able to read this. So it seems to work OK here. As for permissions, go into the metadata templates folder (via File Info's Show templates option) and see if you can add a text file - that'll show if it's a permission issue. Do other scripts work? Like the Image Processor that ships with Bridge. I wonder if the user's got the Adobe libraries installed.

The permissions are now checked and I am able to create a text file in the meta data template folder.
Yes the other scripts I have installed are working OK.
Still no go for the Rank and File Lite.

The script seems to pick up the computer username and writes the template file into a folder whose path includes that name, so on my machine into:
C:\Documents and Settings\John\Application Data\Adobe\XMP\Metadata Templates
Is there anything about your username? Commas or non-English characters?
