I have read The DAM Book and am stuck on one concept dealing with captions.  I am not a professional, so my use is 100% family at this time.  During the download from the camera step, I can apply IPTC information (generally applicable to the majority of the images) using Photo Mechanic.  So I have already modified the originals, but I don't see much of an option.  BTW, I am hoping to download a demo of iView Media Pro this weekend.  In my way of thinking, if I add captioning to the downloaded originals prior to editing them, the IPTC info will be in all versions of each image.  I am thinking that once that is done, I would be ready to back up the downloaded originals, with the complete IPTC information, to DVDs.  Is this a reasonable approach or is there a better workflow?

Thanks,
Rich

Rich,
That's a reasonable approach.
