Yes, this means that the training cds are finally ready to go to press. We should be shipping later this week (the third week of October). The first product is called The DAM Book Workflow, and it shows how to use Bridge/ACR and, most importantly, iView MediaPro. We'll post purchase links very soon.
The disks offer more than 4 hours of step-by-step workflow, including lots of specific instruction on iView MediaPro.
If you have any problems with the disks, or if anything is unclear, post a question here, and we'll answer it as soo as we can.

Dominique,
I talked to Shayne tonight. We will get a date certain by Tuesday, but it looks like either next friday or the following Monday. We should probably be able to turn on ordering on Tuesday.
As far as shipping to Europe, we will be able to do that.

Dominique,
Price will be $99.95 for 4.5 hours of training. The disks take you through two different workflows in Bridge/ACR and iView.
The first is a variable light shoot, where more work must be done in Bridge. The second is a controlled light shoot where more of the picture selection work can be done in iView. It's pretty comprehensive as to how to set up Bridge and iView, as well as how to use iView's editing and output tools.
The disks are Quicktime movies (play on Mac or PC) rahter than DVD, since QT looks so much better, and makes type much more easy to read.
We should have a table of contents and buy button up later today. I'll post here when that is up.

Peter,
Looking forward to the DVD. Nothing like seeing it in action. I'm sure I will pick up some new information.
On a side note, I see that you will be coming to St. Louis in April of next year, and I also see that you will be in Kansas City in December. That's about an 8 hour round trip from St. Louis so I believe I will have to hold out until April. Looking forward to it.
I can already see how your seminar will be very beneficial to the members here. Most of them are lost in the dark when it comes to image management so I will push as many as I can to attend. We actually broached the topic at the last board meeting.
I've finally started forcing myself to get out and network with other photographers as an ASMP member. I've come to realize this field can too easily keep one in isolation unless effort is made to get out and network; which I believe is extremely important. Not only networking with fellow photographers, but also with prospective clients through organizations like AIGA, which by the way is on my ToDo list.

If we buy the training CD's, can we also add Rank and File and Rapid fixer, as a complete bundle?

Chris,
GRRR, paypal, grrrrrr.
We have been wrestling with the Paypal shopping cart for months now. Here is the problem. We sell both items that need shipping, and items that deliver electronically. We can't get Paypal to assign shipping for one and not the other.
There are some other approaches, like creating bundles, but we are still hoping to get a shopping cart worked out (either with Paypal or someone else).
At the moment, you have to make them separate transactions.

Lightroom-where does it fit?

If you use Bridge with Rapid fixer, as is demonstrated-and I might add very efficient, where does Lightroom fit?
it appears to me, and what is that worth- that it might be useful on the DNGs for detailed processing of the 2 or 3 star images.
Maybe in CS3 we will have the choice of adding and working with either Camera RAW defaults or Lightroom defaults while in Bridge?

Chris,
At the moment, I use RapidFixer to adjust almost every image as it goes through the workflow and get converted to DNG. I am using Lightroom when I want the best possible version of the image I can make - usually on its way to Photoshop.
Lightroom may take the place of Bridge/ACR, but I have been unable so far to convince the LR team to include full RapidFixer functionality in LR Quick Develop. It may be that Bridge2.0/ACR4/RapidFixer2 (assuming all these exist) will be a better way to proof a lot of files.
Your general surmise is a pretty good one.

As mentioned in another post- I haven't archived my photos yet-in the DAM sense any way. They are all catalogued but as un-altered RAW & jpeg files.
Is there any benefit of running my jpegs through Lightroom to create DNG's brfore archiving? Is it a personal decision? Or are there pros and cons?
From previous posts I think, unless suggested otherwise Iwill DNG them.
