Does any one have any experience with setting up an off-site backup using a VPN with a Mac G4, etc...?

I'm thinking of trying to set something like this up and just beginnign my homework.

I'd be curious to know if anyone else has done something like this.
This would replace my DVD/CD burning as I have 2+ TB of files already and need somethign more efficient than 2 months of burning DVDs.
I'd set it up to automatically back up daily to this off-site server.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks in advance

I think this is a promising new area, but I don't know of anyone personally who has implemented it.

One caveat.  It may not provide any protection for Virus or Human Error.  So if you accidentally downsample a file to a fraction of it's normal size and save, you might accidentally overwrite your offsite backup, depending how you have your software set.
