Hello,
I've been playing around with LR now for a few days and am generally quite impressed. Just finished watching the Lum landscape beta3 dvd and thought that it provided a good overview from which to start using the program more in depth.
I think I'll still end up using iView with it as I like the cataloging better, but if LR improves on this in future versions it really would be nice to have a single app do "it all".
I've stayed away from actually "using" it, still being in beta form, but couldn't help noticing Peter's comment on another thread..
As of Beta 4 (soon to be released) I have started using Lighhtroom for my Master File Conversions on real work (as opposed to just test files).
Peter - any chance you could elaborate on this? Has the beta4 database structure / metadata writing routines / etc. been finalized enough that this a reasonable thing to do?
And a second question if you don't mind - I think quite a few of us would be curious to see how LR has integrated into your workflow. Heck - might even be time for a 2nd ed of the book.
thanks, and no biggie of course if you cannot comment on it until its actually released.
