Joe, This is probably an issue with the different ways that EXIF is written by the camera companies. While it is a "standard" it is a voluntary one.
Can iView see this information in the CR2 files?

This is all the more reason why iView really needs to support extensible XMP. The DNG converter puts the lens info in the xap aux tags. I can easily map Portfolio fields to these XMP addresses. iView should also have such flexibility.

I submitted a user request/bug report in the iView support area at the beginning of March on this issue -
thread here.
It's been passed on to the developers, but more requests can't hurt.
