I often photograph tethered to my Apple G4 laptop with my D2X using Nikon's Capture Control software. As far as I can tell Capture Control will not let you use the sequence number custom setting d4, sequence number on continue with sequence number) I have set in the camera. In other words, I cannot set the sequence number to a unique image ID like you can in Bridge. I cannot rename the files to a unique image ID later in Bridge. The best I can do as far as I can tell is add a descriptive word in Bridge about the subject after the sequence number before the file extension. My best guess as to why you can't use the camera's unique image ID number is that you aren't saving the file to a compact flash card.

I would like to know how other photographers who use Capture Control handle this filing naming problem.

Thanks
