Nikon D200

Peter:
You are welcome to tell me this is not appropriate for this forum.....but do you know if Adobe is anywhere close to an upgrade to ACR for the Nikon D200? If I shoot RAW and then convert all the files to DNGs (will the DNG converter work on them?), can I then open them that way?
Thanks, Irene

Irene,
Well, looking back on the past release schedule of Camera Raw Updates (and seeing that there is a public beta of 3.3 available on the Adobe website) I would suspect that we are pretty close to another release. I don't know if this public beta supports the D200 or not.
One of the last things that gets finalized is support for new cameras.
Did you get one?

Yes, got the D200 yesterday and 18-200 lens -- trading in D70, D2H, among other things. Lens seems very good (great for traveling situations where weight and space are an issue), but haven't charged up the D200 yet. It feels much more solid than the D70. So can I convert to DNGs and open the files that way?

I answered my own question. No, DNG converter still needs to have the D200 supported.....so I'll figure out another alternative. Irene

Did you try the public beta of Camera Raw?

The D200 isn't listed as one of the supported cameras for the Camera Raw 3.3 beta update. I assume that they would indeed include it, if applicable..... I'm hoping this is imminent!
Thanks,
Irene

Irene,
I was suggesting you try it. Sometimes it can open a file even if it's not listed.

FYI -- I tried to open the D200 raw files with the Camera Raw 3.3 beta version and no luck.....
