I think I've been spoiled by Apple, Adobe and other forums where you automatically receive an email when someone responds to a thread you've posted a comment to.

Days later I remember vaguely having posted a question to this forum, and so far have been lucky enough to remember which category I posted the question, and then find there have been some responses.

I'm not complaining, I'm just voicing a sense of surprise that this forum is not set up to automatically issue emails -- I'm also guessing that's a very expensive web architecture to set up...right, Peter?

Ohhh my goodness.  I just clicked on "additional options" down below for the first time.  OK, my dumb.

I totally can't remember what the fix was to make ACR toggle the Copyright thingie to "Mark as Copyrighted" while inputting IPTC info.  Was it a software fix? was it a trick?  I don't even see the discussion thread here. Maybe I'm dazed from too many tutorials, books and forums  Shocked

4  General / Comments about the book / Re: Binding Problems on The DAM Book on: August 23, 2009, 05:43:20 PM
Peter -

My remarks were not meant as a criticism for the length of the book!  I was just trying to suggest that books of this size and nature should ideally be printed as "loose-leaf" books that we can take apart and read in sections, keep in our laps without jabbing us, etc. .... For that matter you could easily issue your own "book" if it didn't need binding.  Just a radical thought.

With a workflow that includes Bridge/ACR/LR and M.E.....it looks to me that the need for Photoshop is dwindling to the point almost of being superceded by these other Apps.

Let me ask the junior and senior forum members:  Is Photoshop no longer actively being used in your workflow?

Peter -
I don't have a problem with the binding.  But I DO have a problem 'curling up' with a 475-page tome.  I've actually considered tearing my copy of the book apart so that I can read it in installments....and in comfort (and I might just do that).  It's the weight of the spine jabbing into my ribs, my stomach, my crotch, my thigh syndrome.  Personally, I would REALLY appreciate if how-to "bibles" like this were not bound at all so that we could grab a few pages and go to an appointment, take a larger handful on a trip...etc.  I'm sure it's too radical an idea to fly at O'Reilly but my ribs/stomach/crotch/thigh would really appreciate a solution!!   Embarrassed
Love the book otherwise!

Kevin -

This was hilarious! and being at the stage of half-way through reading The Book in a two-day crash-course I really needed something to lift my spirits.

I share many of your sentiments and am determined/hoping I'll be able to navigate through the waters without too much pain to my already badly rattled brain.  Lucky for us Peter's prose is very, very clear with no technological pirhouetting or geek grandstanding. Nice.

Have installed the script. A very cool feature!! Can it not be invoked as part of a template? Is it 'only' a standalone tool?  Sonia
