Chris

I've put this request into Adobe  when LR 1.1 came out.

Wouldn't hurt to add you request to the feature request site. the more they get hopefully the more likley we are to get the feature

2  DAM Stuff / Hardware Discussions / Re: Buffalo TeraStation review on: November 08, 2006, 11:08:55 AM
I am in the same situation as John, although I may not have the same volume as he has. I am looking for a storage solution for digital files, but I can confirm that in the UK we don't seem to have an outlet such as Macgurus, more's the pity. Importing is a nightmare.

I've had a look at the span.com site and it does look  interesting.

I wonder has anyone tried using a Firewire 800 drive as a storage solution. The plan(!) would be to use these as the main storage location rather than the computers hard drive. My main concern is file transfere speed  USB-2 / Firewire400 is slow, but I wondered if the new Firewire 800 drives were significantly faster.

Any help and sugestions warmly welcolmed

Thanks

3  General / General Discussion / Firewire II drives on: July 31, 2006, 05:29:19 AM
It's not until recently that the need for a DAM workflow has hit me. I'm still looking for the best solution as far as software ,but I have a concern over storage space.

I thought of using external Firewire II drives to store the images on. This way as I add more images I can add aditional drives.  All images are backed up (twice) to DVD.

Has anyone tried this aproach, or is there a better option. I havn't decided on software at the moment but a open to sugestions.

Thanks for any advice

John C
