Software Discussions / ImageIngester and ImageVerifier / Custom Location of Preference Files

Marc,
I just finally finished setting up II3 now that I have some free time and noncrucial images to work through. One feature I thought of that I wanted to throw out as an idea is the ability to locate the preferences, presets, logs, etc in a custom location. Basically, what I am thinking is I use both a desktop and a laptop to ingest and want the same settings on both. I happen to be on a Mac and have a .Mac account that syncs data between my desktop and laptop automatically. I was just thinking it would be great if I could place the files there and simply point Image Ingester to use those instead of the ones in the users folders. That would keep both computers synced and no additional work copying files back and forth.
No idea if others would use this or how hard it would be to implement but just thought I would throw it out there. In other news, II3 seems to be working great on my first ingest and I absolutely love the new layout and preference/preset system. Keep up the great work.
Best, Drew

Software Discussions / ImageIngester and ImageVerifier / Re: IIP and Delkin's new ImageRouter?

Thats what I was afraid of. I am not sure how the ImageRouter works. I thought it wasn't exactly parallel but just did one card then the next and then the next and on. The advantage being that you don't have to sit and wait. Any chance of adding a feature like this in the future? Essentially be able to queue up multiple card readers in IIP and hit start? That way you don't have to sit there the whole time and switch out cards. Just a thought.

Software Discussions / iView MediaPro / Rebuilding Thumbnails...

So my understanding is that if you change the thumbnail settings and then hit rebuild item, you should get a new thumbnail with the new settings. Unfortunately, this isn't happening and that may be because I am missing something or I am having a problem.
I used to have "Use Built-in Thumbnails" checked but have just unchecked it. I also use to import at 640 High and want to reduce that to 640 medium. The other day I imported some at 320 and now can't get them to become 640.
What am I missing?
Thanks!

Software Discussions / Scripting / Filename to Title AppleScript for iView
|

I usually send the filename to the title field in IIP but screwed it up on my laptop for a bunch of files from a recent trip. I am now trying to go back and get the filename into each file.
I tried Beardy's Bridge script and while it appears to work in Bridge, when I view the images in iView, it isn't there. I assume someone has one written in AppleScript for Iview but I can't seem to find one looking through this forum.
Oh yea, I am working with DNG files converted from D2Xs Nefs on a Mac Pro
Any help?
Thanks!
Drew
