Thanks Peter, However I am a little confused on how you store Jewel cases in a notebook.  I also am a PC user who currently shoots a 20D.  I will probably upgrade to the 20D successor if it has 7fps and a better AF system, until I can afford a 1DMkII.

First of all great book.  It was a very easy read that took less than a day of off and on reading.  However I came away with a few questions.

1)  Should a certain keyword be put into derivative files so you know what they are.  I guess I know that you will be able to tell from the filename, but say you are doing a search and specifically want the derivative.

2)  What should DVD backups be stored in?  A jewel case, spindle, etc.

3)  Is there a certain point that a database is a must.  Basically I have about 10K images right now and I am kind of wanting to wait on investing in catalog software until more about lightroom is known.
