Software Discussions / Media Pro & Expression Media / images in media view are tiny using E.M. reader

Hi, I've made a couple catalogs for a client in E.M. to for them to use with E.M. Reader. The older images in the catalog render fine in Media View, but all the newer images I added recently only show in thumbnail size (or smaller) when viewed in Media View. The source files are 45MB and they all render fine in my E.M. catalog. Again - the problem is with my client viewing the files in E.M. Reader. Any ideas out there? Thanks. Leon

Software Discussions / Media Pro & Expression Media / problem importing keywords

EM2 + Mac OS 10.6.8
Hi, I switched source hard drives for my images so created a new catalog by Resetting Paths. Unfortunately, a significant number of the paths didn't reset and the only way they would was one at a time (which took a lot of time). So when that happened with another catalog I thought it'd be better to start fresh by creating a new catalog and importing the images. Unfortunately when I did that the jpegs & tiffs imported fine by the NEFs didn't display thumbnails. So I used Rebuild Item for the NEFs and the thumbnails displayed. But the problem is the keywords on the NEFs don't show up and Synch Annotations didn't work, even one at a time. The keywords, which were generated on EM, are on the source files. Any ideas?

Software Discussions / Media Pro & Expression Media / online stock catalog via E.M. export

Hi. I'd really appreciate some suggestions for software that will enable me to either post my stock photo catalog onto my website or onto a third party's website.
I'm primary looking for some kind of system where editors could go to my website and use a keyword search to find, view and select images for publication. The system doesn't need to include access to source files - clients could contact me for those.
More specifically, I'm hoping to find a program or a service that offers: 1. The ability to easily export apx. 9,000 image files and keywords from an Expression Media catalog. 2. That ability for images to be seen by search engines, via the keywords. All of the images in my catalog are keyworded, but most don't have titles yet (they just have caption numbers), so it's important that the keywords be seen by search engines. 3. An advanced keyword search, similar to Expression Media's, with multiple keyword searches and hopefully "or" and "and" options. 4. The ability to view larger preview images (in addition to the requisite thumbnails). 5. A way for clients to select images, into a shopping cart or some other system, that would avoid them having to manually make a list of the caption numbers of the images that they're interested in. (Not essential.) 6. A system for ordering prints via a third party lab (similar what ImageQuix or Smugmug offer) would be nice, but not essential.
Of course, it'd also be nice if this is a user friendly program (or service) both for me and for my clients, that it looks great and doesn't cost a lot.
Anyone know of anything out there that would do the job? THANKS! Leon

Software Discussions / Media Pro & Expression Media / Two problems - resetting paths not working and Light Table is cropping images.
|
on: May 14, 2010, 08:51:05 PM

Hi, I'm a long time iView/EM user - two problems have just come up that I'd appreciate help with.
1. About 50% of the images in one of my catalogs show as "Original media file not available." Unfortunately resetting the paths is not working. Any ideas? (BTW - I have successfully reset paths in the past with other catalogs, so not sure why it isn't working in this case. The source files are definitely accessible.)
2. When I view several images at a time in the Light Table it cuts off part of the images. How do I get it back to where the Light Table shows the images without cropping?
Many thanks?
