2  Software Discussions / Bridge/ Camera Raw / I lost the ACR in Bridge after update on: June 14, 2007, 11:16:25 AM
I am not able to open Raw files in Bridge's ACR any more after the updates to Camera RAW 4.1. It goes directly to PS.
No options in Preferences to switch back.
I can't find any fixes online either.
Does anyone have the same problem? Any suggestions for fix?
I am on PC Windows XP. Not sure if it matters.

Thanks,
Edua
3  Software Discussions / ImageIngester and ImageVerifier / Re: Bug with CS3? on: May 03, 2007, 12:46:30 PM
Thanks for the quick answer Marc.
I do have the sidecard, but there is no data written in it. accept the one from my camera ( my name). I made the template with CS3 Bridge. Could that be the problem?

4  Software Discussions / ImageIngester and ImageVerifier / Bug with CS3? on: May 03, 2007, 12:02:40 PM
I am running on PC, and just downloaded the suggested version 2.2.
Everything works fine except the macros. I am not able to use the macros. For some reason they don't write into the file metadata. I read through the whole manual, and have a pretty good undertsanding it. Any other pre-made Metadata template works fin, but imageingester's own. I even made macro template from PSCS3. It didn't work.

Is is a bug with CS3 which I have been using?
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
edua
5  DAM Stuff / DNG / Can we verify what is embedded in the DNG on: March 24, 2007, 11:23:23 AM
I was wondering if we could verify later what was embedded in the DNG, as you call it Digital job jacket.
If you could see the embedded jpg (size full or medium), if RAW was embedded or if you have the right xmp file in (lets say the verify the latest by date).
In case if you can't see, should I recreate the DNGs from my RAWs?
My assistant made the DNGs and I am not sure under what settings they were created.

Thanks,
Edua
6  DAM Stuff / Backup Strategies and Tools / Re: WinXP Backup Problems on: January 16, 2007, 11:02:40 AM
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I have a genuine Windows installed to my computer (came with it). Now I added an additional Sata drive to the system, and ghosted the first drive to the new one. Of course the problem came, and my old drive did not recognized the DVD Writer. After an hour and a half wasted on the phone with DELL. They made all matters worse ( never call them again ) so my original drive not even running. Anyway, I thought I was all set because I was good and had a back up. This is when it all went down. It does not really run, and gives me a notice that my Windows is not genuine. I have all my settings backed up, but it seems I have to reinstall the OS from the original disc and all the softwares. I don't understand if I clone the full disk to a new one and use it in the same computer why is the operationg system is not Genuine.
Anyway this is what I try to avoid next time and would like to just swap the drives and reboot from the back up if anything like this happens again. ( and I know it will  Grin).
Any idea  what is the problem. Is it from NGhost?

7  DAM Stuff / Backup Strategies and Tools / WinXP Backup Problems on: January 16, 2007, 01:32:58 AM
HI,
I am in the situation of restoring my hard drive. I have the data backed up but I have to reinstall all the softwares all over again. I used Norton Ghost and try to make a bootable back up, but somehow the back up is not a Genuine Windows version? Did anybody had a better luck with Norton Ghost, or any other software I can just weekly backup my total hard drive. I have 2 SATA drives in my computer  but I don't set up RAID, just 2 separate drives. These are only for program running not for image storage.
I dont know if I missed it but I didn't see any back up suggestions for fully bootable harddrives.
Let me know what you use if any,
Thanks,
Edua

I am setting up a system and looking for PC softwares for mirroring over network for images,
as well as clone for bootdrives for internal SATA drives.

Please let me know what you guys are using and if there are problems with the softwares.
I read there are problems with Norton Ghost - any suggestion?

Thanks a bunch,
Edua
