Any chance you are using one that is Gigabit with no 10base T? If you have a question, it's probably best to reference the step number above where things break fro you. Brian,

What are the network settings for eithernet? I'm on Airport to the internet but hooked straight in with eithernet to the printer. There are dozen's of ways to set up the network settings and I've tried everything. I have my OS9 machine and had it hooked up and got the IP address. Did as you say here and more, I have a green light ready on the printer but I still get the 'connecting to printer' then the "network host XXXXXXXXX is busy will try in 5 seconds thing" every time. The printer works on my old G5 with leopard. So the printer is okay. It's just snow leopard that has the appletalk problem. HELP Nope, will not work for me. It works fast and fine and now I also can print on huge paper again. This LW 8500 will not be going to the landfill, as long as toner cartridges are available ...
